My dear and very much valued business partners, I have taken the liberty of creating an excel sheet that classifies the various CEOs in this business accord according to how I think they composed their soundtrack. I hope my little work will be enough to induce a small laugh.

CEOs that invested too much money into commissioning a composer:
- TeffyD
- carboluka
- Disphora

CEOs that hired a composer who loves Minecraft:
- HC1

CEOs who had an employee who already composes:
- Dynamic0
- Aalasteir
-

CEOs who do not care about music and literally forced a random employee to compose:
- YoannBB (I went overboard with the poopiness I'll be honest LMAO)
- AngelLOL123
- ZuwerWS
- Lusin

carboluka responds:

We at Petrolevil Inc. care about our composers very much, that's where 78% of the revenue is going

I'm not jealous of how realistic this sounds no no no

carboluka responds:

Ah well, that's a relief then!

I vibe with this a lot! Only "complains" that I have are that the cut at the end is atrocious and that it'd have been hella nice to have a little bit more varied harmony!!

Bachfly20 responds:

FIXED
Thanks a lot for the feedback, and you're right. Even though I meant to keep the piece simple, I think adding more varied harmony would’ve been nice ig. As for the audio... I think I’ve fixed that part (hopefully). Not sure how I missed it before -_-

Time for a breakdown of the things I love about this track!
I'll only be talking about my favorite things about the song, so please don't feel left out if I don't mention your part as... well music is extremely subjective haha

(Sorry to Carboluka btw! I can't find/remember which parts you merged... But just know that you have my thanks for helping Manon ofc!)

The song starts kinda mid until the second part ngl.

Manon your first part works really well lol. I know it was made as a link but still, it works af

TheNormalMusic : BRO I love the fast part of your part so much! I've always liked fast paced things with electro and realistic things in it + it's melody focused. W parttt

Bascuti, I never ever listen to stuff like your part but I wanted to comment the... I think it's called sound design? I've tried a lot to play with aggressive sounds like in your part and never succeeded, yet here it sounds cleaaaaan

BBank (fellow BB name) : what a chill part, I've got a thing for chill parts lol. This one is chill and nice too!

V-Future : I believe it's synthwave right? Well anyway I love the chords, it makes the entire part epic to my ears 0_0

FODD! I'm pretty sure you know that I love your part already haha. The drum pattern... Idk what you used but I hope I can make something like that one day as well! Seriously your drums may be the most complex here?

MarlAngelo, what do I even say haha. My favorite OST of all time is the Touhou project. And you share a loooot of composition patterns with its creator and that's why our parts are so similar lol (doesn't help that we used the exact same baseline haha). Anyway I hope you'll create more things one day! Iirc you said you were gonna take a break. Have a good break dude.
Oh btw sorry for milking your 1 - b7 - 6 - b6 bass for the transition haha. It's my favorite bassline

Uhhh is it bad that I love the transition here? I know I made it but silnava's melody worked so well with Marl's chords haha.

Bruh the Silnava piano hits so hard too. It slaps SO HARD when the strings replace the trumpet 0_0 (before we get the most mind bending harmony shenanigan of the entire song haha)

Flamadour, Fruitsbat and Manon... holy heck idk what happened at 10:00 but just know that the break is INSAAANE with its atmosphere + guitar

Amethyst added shredding to the song that's insane. I was kind of a metalhead before becoming more jazz-oriented so know that your part was riiiight up in my alley!

Sevenchakra's intense part following Amethyst's works so well too it's insane. Well from here on out iirc all of the parts just work and flow reaaally well so to me this is the start of the best overall section of the song imo! (Damn your sound design too Seven!)

Following this part with Jazzdew's was also a giga smart move. Bro's FL Studio looks like a mixing table and you can HEAR that lol

Lumiflag. Bro your piano is so cooool. I wanted to merge your part originally actually but I couldn't find any other fitting places for it originally. Then studies came smh. But yeah one of the sickest melodies here!

Also why does Kannonized's melody work so well here? Seriously Manon's got some eaaars

PiwAEyes introducing what I believe is color bass here is also so sick like bruhhh I remember listening to it for the first time and going "ayooo that's so weird" and replaying the part because it was weird in a sick way. I believe it's the fact that it's swinged color bass. W idea.

AngelPandaEarth composing on MOBILE is criminal. Seriously I feel insulted. Amazing dedication... and harmony too! It took me some tries to understand it weirdly enough.

Lexxndr. Your 7/4... Heh. I use weird time thingies all the time too but hearing it from someone else is always wayyy better. It makes the part so catchy and it stands out!

Shletty your chords are btw extremely W. I don't think there's that much explicit harmonic minor except for your part, Marl's and mine but I'm forgetting some. Point is, sick part.

TeffyD bringing us some niiiiiice chill (and it makes me think of the beach too) beats too is sick. Pair this with MassiveMarioLuigi's part and you've got the most cozy way to end the song haha. Seriously it makes me smile. Rare case where I don't get angry at a fadeout haha.

So again, huge GGs to all the artists because you cooked. W to Carboluka for helping Manon, and to Manon for... merging like 95% of the parts GAH DAMNNNN

xFODDon responds:

Thanks for the shout out, btw I used LABS drums for my part

Silnava responds:

damn, you've really described all the parts ;0

TheNormalMusic responds:

Oh jeez, what a review! Thanks :3

SevenChakras responds:

you flatter me! thank you, thank you

amethyst141 responds:

personally i actually love your part the most here lol, i find it very beautiful, feels like rock with orchestral elements same time, it reminds me of the band AliA and touhou songs. even as a metalhead who loves crossover metal/new york hardcore very much ive also been practicing/studying to make something similar to that type of music someday

I'd recognize the ZUNpet anywhere haha (you even follow a lot of the conventions that ZUN follows haha. I'm horrible ._.)
Anyway dude your composition skills are top notch, but your mixing is what you need to work on! If you were to work on it you'd be able to make so much insane stuff 0_0
Take my follow, I wanna see you grow!

ThePhreshPhrog responds:

Thank you so much, that really means a lot! You are 100% correct mixing is where I really struggle. If you have any tips or advice on how to learn or things I should be implementing, I would really appreciate it. (Also, a new track that leans even more heavily into Touhou influences is on the way!)

Real nice collection of songs here! I wish the leveling could have been a bit better though because I had to adjust the volume a couple times during my listening session lol
But that's a pretty minor complaint so have my stars!

shletty responds:

yea i shouldve considered that, thanks though!

MY DUDES, as one of the biggest ZUN music nerd you'll ever encounter, I'm going to share my thoughts on some of the tracks here!

Disphora's track sounds almost like a possible evolution of ZUN's style. ZUN's style has been evolving since 1986 since he started, and that's normal. But he often stays in one style for 1 or 2 years before changing it a bit. Here it sounds almost like something that could have happened after Touhou 19 if Taboo Japan Disentanglement hadn't happened instead: the elementic drum kit but with strings again (he hasn't used them in a GOOD while) and way more delicate composing. Big fan, and one of my favorite tracks here!

Vert's boss track is... yeah you just know from listening to it that Vert knows a lot about making ZUN style. It sounds very boss 1 too! I mean... Just listen to Touhou 18's first boss theme. It's perfectly in style! My only complain (and it's a very small one), would be that the panning on elementic is b i g but that's not a huge deal lol.

CraftMango has made quite a big amount of progress compared to the earlier tracks shared on discord. The part without the drums (but before the claps start again) is legit. The composition on display has motifs, is logical and memorable. The key changes are also very elegant. To me, you should now start working on getting better instruments! It'll help a lot with mixing too!

Vert's stage song is INSANE AAAAAAA it's just so good what the hell. To me it's one of the highlights of the collab clearly. It'll literally help me wait for ZUN's next album's announcement which SHOULD happen on July 22nd or 23rd if he is consistent with the other times he released albums. Yeah the track is THAT good.

I shall also give credit where credit is due to PixxlMan's track. The instruments are on point, but it's an earlier era of ZUN's music. Thank god we got an earlier style song because without this track it wouldn't have happened. Justice to the Gator Kit lmao.

YoannBB's track is alright ig

JinZ, track remind me of Okina's first theme due to its structure lol, but actually it mostly makes me nostalgic as when I started composing I tried making some Touhou-likd songs. But I mainly used the Touhou soundfont. This track uses it a lot too, hence why it made me feel nostalgic haha

Lastly, Monotsugoi's track. It does not belong as an ending track clearly, but that wasn't their decision and a track had to be chosen lol, at the end of the day. But GAH DAMN THIS ONE TOO is just insane. First of all going for the LOLK style is bonkers, I see very few songs in that style. But the bass is also just so slappy, it's extremely catchy. Seriously, you and Vert have collabed before and it's clear that you 2 know Touhou's music a lot. I don't know how you 2 came to participate in that collab but we got hard carried. Props to you!

YoannBB responds:

Nahhh the dude made a whole essay. I keep doing that smh

Ratedkid responds:

Happens to the best of us

Vert5288 responds:

Thank you for the high praise, it means a lot, and congratulations to all who participated! I'm glad we can all celebrate our love for ZUN's style together.

monotsugoi responds:

TSYM!!!! u guys did very well too and i hope we can make more stuff like this in the future! :D

Sounds really distinguished for a bazaar! Must be a really high quality one!

shletty responds:

thanks!

it slaps though, it is clearly a vibe, and made me vibe too

shletty responds:

thank you

ouhhhhhh I like this one
It has the right amount of ambience (and WELL MADE ambience damn) and actually interesting musical things!

TeffyD responds:

Analog Lab has amazing patches if you use the right chords and timing, I strongly recommend it. I use the free version, just need an Arturia account and their downloader app thingy.

I like music and I'm mainly here because Spotify is too complicated to use for me lol. If people want more of my music that is on my YT channel SOMEHOW (I would be so flattered lol) I'll put them here first ofc!
Anyway I'm really slow at composing sooo ye
